Six more weeks of winter still ahead!

Wiarton Willie of  Ontario, Shubenacadie Sam of Nova Scotia, and Punxsutawney Phil of Pennsylvania all saw their shadows today, which means we are to expect 6 more weeks of winter!

Groundhog Day is a holiday celebrated by both Canada and the United States. Tradition is that when a groundhog emerges from its burrow on February 2nd and sees its shadow, it will descend back into the burrow, and there will be 6 more weeks of winter. However, if the groundhog emerges and does not see its shadow it will leave the burrow, signifying that spring is just around the corner.
